For most travellers the best time to visit Thailand is from November to February, the cool and dry season. But the right month depends on where you are going.

The three seasons

Cool and dry (November to February): the most comfortable weather for sightseeing across most of the country.
Hot (March to May): very warm, especially in Bangkok and the north.
Rainy (June to October): the southwest monsoon brings more rain. It often comes in short showers in Bangkok, but the Andaman coast gets its roughest seas and heaviest rain, peaking roughly from June to September.
